IntelliSense.io is thrilled to launch the latest version of brains.app Jarosite '22.

"brains.app is a real-time decision-making platform for asset-intensive industries. It is powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT)."

The Jarosite '22 release note includes significant upgrades to the “out of the box” Optimisation as a Service (OaaS) Applications:

  • Grinding and Flotation Recommendations

  • Stockpile Data Quality Transparency

  • Solvent Extraction and Ultra-fine Grinding

“We wanted to focus on providing our customers with clear and timely recommendations for this release. The introduction of both Grinding and Flotation circuit Optimisation ensures mines can now produce and recover more value while keeping operating costs down (energy). However, maximizing value downstream requires the granular data upstream that is provided by our Stockpile and Inventory Application. Releasing our data quality and material movements features ensures on the highest quality feed properties are always available.

In addition, the exciting news of closing our ultrafine and solvent extraction digital process models means our solution can be applied to even more commodity value chains.”
- Mark de Geus, Product Director

Here's what's improved in the IntelliSense.io Products

Grinding Circuit Optimization

  • Grinding Circuit PSD Simulator for metallurgist to simulate & decide at which setpoints to operate Grinding circuit over the next day, operating at better process variable setpoints.

  • Grinding App - Optimize helps operators to operate SAG Mill at its optimal Mill Load setpoint (Dynamic Overload Threshold).

  • Grinding App - Stabilize gives guidance for operators on primary mill solids feed rate (tonnage) and water flow rate to achieve target setpoints and prevent mill overloading & underloading, keeping the mill charge stable.

  • Ultrafine Grinding (UFG) App was developed for operators to keep the UFG mill’s discharge % passing within the target range at all times. Operators can also detect issues around density or mass flows immediately and prevent stoppage events, increasing throughout due to the more stable operation of the Isamill.

Stockpile and Inventory Optimization

  • Data Quality section (Beta) aims at increasing customer control and understanding of the SIO input data by providing a site-level overview summary of the main quality metrics of the Geospatial data.

  • Stockpile Material Movements (Beta) page is a 2D map visualization tool capable of showing the locations and boundaries of the stockpiles, besides plotting load/dump events based on GPS coordinates. As a visual tool, mining planners and operations can spotlight eventual deviations in regards of dumps and reclaims events.

  • Dozing Model V2.0 includes handling GPS data inconsistencies of the dozer equipment, ensuring a logical tracking of the dozing movements; therefore improving the quality of the stockpile 3d block models.

  • Subregions V2.0 incorporates the configuration of subregions along the ‘Z axis’, enabling sites to have control over specific material volumes allocated across the vertical axis.

  • Blockmodel Enhancements:

- % of the contribution of categorical variables is added per block, showing the percentage of the one that contributes the most to the total content of each block. For example, now metallurgists and geologists can estimate the performance of the crusher and milling circuit, therefore the throughput, based on material types and rock types related to the plant feed.

- % of GPS coordinates filled by the smart GPS filling are added per block, which enables Geologists to have a view of the quality of the spatial data used as input to allocate each particular block, and evaluate the level of uncertainty of a particular area when planning to reclaim.

Flotation Optimization

  • Flotation App - Optimize helps operators to operate Flotation circuits in such a way that it delivers the maximum metal recovery by delivering recommended setpoints: froth depth, and air flow rate.

Thickener Circuit Optimization

  • Equipment Digitalisation is available to support the Thickener Optimization Application by offering flocculant make-up and dosing systems equipment status alerts, information and recommendations pertaining to equipment availability and reagent make-up and dosing optimization. These features improve overall flocculant reagent supply performance, which adds an additional layer of optimization to one of the Thickener Control Metrics. Therefore, helping the Thickener circuit to run at maximum potential, consistently producing the desired underflow density/overflow clarity.

Heap Leach Optimization Application

  • Heap Leach App - Virtual Sensors help operators to better irrigate their heaps, as they can see how key properties are distributed throughout their 3D Heap Model. Improve planning of ripios removal from dynamic heap pads by having proactive insight into areas of higher clay and fines, decreasing acid consumption - OPEX savings.

Solvent Extraction Optimization Application

  • Solvent Extraction (SX) App - Virtual Sensors were developed to alert operators in the prediction of mixer continuity instabilities, so they can take action to prevent these from occurring (Mixer Phase Jump Detector). Furthermore, operators can monitor mixer O/A ratios in real-time (Mixer O/A ratio VS) for a more effective copper mass transfer, increasing production.

Material Model

A framework for using instrument measurements to provide state estimates that account for uncertainty and provide visibility on unmeasured stream properties of interest via equation-oriented dynamic modeling of process circuits.

Reconciliation

A tool for unifying different sources of measurement, providing a unified estimate of the real values of interest while reporting on the associated uncertainty. Can detect the presence and likely locations of gross measurement error.

brains.app

  • The New library comprehends the new metrics, units, icons, and quantities that can be configurated. These are key components of the brains.app platform to better administrates your components, allowing you to expose data from various data sources and use this data in dashboards and reports.

  • The in-app alerts screen enables users to realize the value of brains.app decision support recommendations by ensuring that operators are always made aware of any situation requiring their attention and can jump straight to dashboards providing them with the context they need to take the right decision. Decisions are made promptly and situations such as SAG Mill overloads can be avoided, saving the company hundreds of thousands of dollars.

  • In addition, over 50 requests have been completed to improve the platform's existing functionality and increase its robustness.
