Introduction:

Efficiently managing your stockpile blockmodels is essential for ensuring an accurate reflection of your inventory. This involves aligning the volumetric, spatial, and geometric properties of the blockmodels with the data from scan survey files, a process known as conformation. To simplify this task, our Scan Management feature provides users with two convenient methods for conforming stockpile blockmodels: manual uploads and automated uploads via data lake integration. Prior to utilizing the Scan Management tools, please verify that your scans adhere to the specified requirements (you can find them here: How to Prepare and Submit Quality Scans for Automated Blockmodel Conformation).

How to Conform Stockpile Blockmodels using scans?

  1. Manual Uploads: Users can manually upload scan files, which are then processed to precisely adjust and conform the stockpile blockmodels.

Step 1: Navigate to "Settings" section.

Step 2: Click on "Stockpile Admin" page.

Step 3: Navigate to Scan Management

  • The main page presents two subpages: Stockpile Initialization and Scan Management. Select Scan Management.

Step 4: Initiate Scan Upload

  • In the top right corner of the Scan Management page, click on the Upload Scan button.

Step 5: Select Stockpile & Input Details

  • A dialog box will appear prompting you to:

    • Select the stockpile(s) to be conformed.

    • Input the date and time the scan was taken.

    • Select Scan File.

  • Step 6: Save File

    • Click on the Save File button to submit your scan file.

Note: Ensure your file is within the 200MB limit and in DXF, LAS, or CSV format. Scans older than 8 days may require longer processing time; in such cases, please contact IntelliSense.io support.

2. Data Lake Integration: For sites using a data lake to upload scans, the app can be seamlessly integrated to automatically ingest and process scans, ensuring that stockpile blockmodels are accurately conformed to the current physical inventory.

Navigating the Scan Management Page:

Regardless of the chosen upload method, the Scan Management page offers a comprehensive history of stockpiles undergoing the conformation process. Users can find the following information displayed:

  • Status: Indicates the current stage of the conformation process.

  • Result: Displays the outcome of the process, indicating how the blockmodels have been adjusted to align with the scanned data.

  • Data Quality Report: Users have the option to download a report outlining the data quality of the scans.

  • Scan File Information: Provides additional details related to the scan file.

Understanding Scan Results:

During the ingestion process, scan files undergo a series of data quality checks to ensure accurate adjustment and conformation of the stockpile blockmodels:

  • Accepted: The scan satisfies all quality standards, leading to precise adjustment of the blockmodel's spatial and geometric attributes.

  • Approved with Warning: The scan is accepted with certain reservations, and the blockmodel may require further review.

  • Rejected: The scan fails to meet the required standards, and no adjustments are made to the blockmodel.

  • Processing Error: Indicates a failure in processing the scans.

Email Notifications:

In the event of a rejected scan, users subscribed to the email notification service will receive an email notification, which includes:

  • An overview of the issue.

  • A link to download the data quality report.

  • A direct link to the Scan Management page for more details.

Currently, notifications are sent only for rejected scans. However, the system can be configured to send notifications for any result (Please check How to enroll for email notifications regarding scan results?.

Conclusion:

The Stockpile and Inventory Optimization Application, through its Scan Management tools, ensures precise and accurate conformation and adjustment of your stockpile blockmodels to accurately reflect the physical inventory. It provides detailed insights and timely notifications for efficient inventory management. For further assistance or customization, don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.
