This document aims to assist in using the Thickener Operator Screen v2.0 created to meet the control room operators' needs when using the Thickener App. It provides operators with essential information and controls to efficiently manage and optimize the thickener component.

To access the Operator Screen v2.0, you need to first login to the IntelliSense.io Thickener App and click on the thickener icon on the left side in the Thickener App. A drop down box will appear with a list consisting of "Operator" and "Performance", you then select "Operator" and this will take you to the Operator Screen v2.0.

Here are the key features and elements found on the Thickener Operator Screen v2.0:

  1. Real-time process data/Visualization:

    • Real-time process data: Display of live data from sensors and equipment, such as flow rates, and other relevant process variables.

    • Confirmation messages: Alarms with audio cues to acknowledge time until next action can be taken/recommendations can be provided to optimize the thickener.

    • Color-coded indicators: Visual cues (e.g., color changes) to quickly identify abnormal conditions, dark apricot color indicate critical recommendation to be taken by the operator and light apricot color indicate a change in the control variable.

  2. Trending and Historical Data:

    • Historical trend charts: Graphical representation of process variables over time, allowing operators to identify trends and patterns, and see the future optimized state of the control variable, this feature show the selected control variable on the left side of the operator screen.

  3. Control and Command:

    • Control panels: Interactive buttons and switches for operators to adjust setpoints and switch between control variables.

    • Command: To display the control variable trend, click on the cell for the relevant thickener and the trend for the selected control variable will be displayed on the right side.

  4. Status Indicators:

    • System health indicators: Display of system health and performance metrics to ensure the operator interface is functioning optimally.

    • Rewards: By clicking on the cell right next to the word "Reward", you will be able to view the "Optimizer Rewards"(the screen below will be displayed on the right side) typically referring to the performance metrics used to evaluate the quality of solutions generated by the optimizer. The optimizer iteratively explores the solution space, evaluating different solutions and updating them to improve value. The goal of the optimizer is to find the best solution that maximizes value and minimizes losses.

  5. Navigation and Contextual Information:

    • Icon Legend: Icon legend is found at the bottom of the screen section with details to guide operators to navigate sections of the operator screen.

    • Contextual information: Display of relevant notes, instructions, or contextual details to guide operators in their decision-making. When hovering over an Icon a note appears with a description of the Icon.
