Metric Naming

Metric Naming = Description 1 (Description 2 Description 3) (State 1 State 2 Model Asset)

Metric Examples:

  • Angle (Lifter Anticlockwise) (Min Liner Wear)

  • Percent Solids (Feed) (Predicted Neural Network)

  • Status (Open Signal Valve 1)

  • Temperature (Pump Drive)

  • Vibration

  • pH

Description 1

It is the most basic unit being monitored, normally the unit

  • Temperature

  • Angle

  • Flow rate

  • Mass flow rate

  • Number

Description 2:

Gives context to original description

  • Feed

  • Discharge

  • Valve

  • Open

  • Underflow

Description 3:

A second option to repeat the above giving context to original description

State 1:

The manipulation of the metric from it's original state

  • Predicted, optimised

  • t + 10

  • Average, total, cumulative

State 2:

A second option to repeat the above manipulation of the metric from it's original state

Model:

The model from which the metric is generated

  • Mass balance

  • Neural Network

Note: As metrics are attached to assets that context is given in the attachment and so therefore that context should be up kept in the attachment vs in the naming itself e.g. flow rate is consistent for every pump.
